Why the visit matters

A roof's install date tells you less than you might think. Shade, pitch, ventilation and which way each slope faces all change how quickly shingles dry out, so two houses built the same year on the same street can be in very different shape.

The assessment settles it in person. We get up there, test the things that decide whether treatment will work, look at the parts that keep water out, and then sit down with you to go through it. If treatment is the answer, you get a price for it and for anything that should come first. If it is not, you hear that too, with the reasons.

From hello to answer

  1. We start on the ground

You tell us what prompted the call and anything you know about the roof's history, and we take a first look from the yard.

  2. We climb up

On the roof we work slope by slope, which takes thirty to sixty minutes on most homes, stepping carefully around anything fragile.

  3. We talk it over

Down in the yard again, you get the story of the roof in plain words and a line-by-line price for anything worth doing, with all the time you need to think.

Things we look at

These come up on every visit.

  • How readily the shingles flex when a tab is gently raised.
  • Where the granule cover is holding and where it is wearing thin.
  • How much grit has collected in the gutters and around downspouts.
  • Whether the seal strips are still holding tabs down in the wind.
  • Nail heads that have crept up or started to rust through.
  • Flashing along walls, around chimneys and down the valleys.
  • Rubber pipe boots and vent covers that may have split or loosened.
  • Algae, moss or lichen that would have to be washed off first.

Book one if

  • Your roof has seen ten or more Florida summers
  • You have a replacement quote and want a second opinion
  • A home sale is coming up on either side

Skip it for now if

  • Your shingles are only a handful of years old
  • Water is coming through, which is a job for a roofer first
  • Your roof is metal

What makes the visit worthwhile

  • Real findings

You hear what is actually happening on your roof, described in everyday terms.

  • Itemized prices

Every suggested service has its own figure, so nothing is hidden in a bundle.

  • Useful either way

Even if you hold off, you leave knowing what the roof needs and roughly when.

Questions we hear

What if you think the roof should be replaced?

Then you will hear that clearly, along with what we saw that led us there, so you can plan with confidence.

Do I have to decide on the spot?

Not at all. You get the findings and the prices, and you can take as long as you like.
